Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) – TDM Cakna

26th SEPTEMBER 2020 – At TDM Berhad, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is realised through our commitment to empowering the communities where we operate in; and building shared values through three key areas of focus: Entrepreneurship, Community, and Education. It is a crucial part of our business model as we continue to make impactful actions that address key social and environmental challenges, as well as provide added values to our stakeholders.

A trailblazer to our commitment shared above; our team organised a corporate social responsibility (CSR) program for selected students at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Sungai Tong. Our focus for this initiative was education, within the context of a broader corporate social responsibility strategy. We believe that everyone can be successful through proper guidance and moral support.

The two-day program was attended by 40 students who will soon sit for Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM). We chose students who struggle at school, academically and with discipline, and set to transform them through different perspectives and success pathways. Through this program, we aimed to build and install admirable traits to these students, which hopefully can prevent any escalation of social issues rooting from a distorted and unstable frame of mind. Not only that, this programme was planned to shed insights to these students of various opportunities to increase their potential which are not only limited to academic performance.

We are passionate about creating long-term, sustainable programmes that will benefit everyone; hence, our journey with these students will not stop here. We are committed to continuing our journey with these students, allowing them to explore their interests and guiding them to success.

It’s simply that we can make a more significant difference together that we have planned more initiatives to operate in greater harmony with local communities, through three key areas of focus; entrepreneurship, community and education, and maintaining strong ties.
