25 July 2021 – As part of its responsibility to ensure the well-being of its employees, TDM Berhad initiated a food basket distribution programme for Kemaman Palm Oil Mill (KPOM) workers who are currently affected by the alarming COVID-19 cases there. The food aid initiative, an extension of the company’s Huluran Kasih CSR programme, saw 130 families receiving basic necessities like rice, sugar, flour, cooking oil, and other dry rations, distributed by the Padang Kubu Village Development and Security Committee (JPKK) with the support of TDM Plantation (TDMP) team from the nearby estates, following the Restricted Movement Control Order (RMCO) which were recently implemented there. Most recipients couldn’t continue their daily routine or head out to buy necessities as they are currently self-quarantining and residing in RMCO areas.
It is hoped that the distribution will ease their burden and help them sustain through the quarantine period, which sets to end soon. TDM Berhad would like to thank the JPKK team, and the TDMP team headed by South Zone Plantation Controller En Roslan Othman together with KPOM Manager Haji Hassan Osman, for successfully coordinating the food basket distribution. TDM would also like to remind everyone to comply with the regulations by the Malaysian government and urge everyone to register as a vaccine recipient so that Malaysians can achieve herd immunity as planned. Let’s work together towards realising a COVID-free nation.
