29 August 2021 – TDM Plantation (TDMP) received a visit from Thailand Consul-General to Kelantan and Terengganu Mr Mongkol Sinsomboon and Minister-Counsellor of Labour Mrs Ruengratt Adhikari together with several delegates of the Royal Thai Embassy and the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Kota Bharu, earlier this morning. The purpose of the visit was to better understand the operations of TDMP estates and mills in the Kemaman Complex. Present to warmly welcome the delegation group at Jernih Estate were TDM Berhad Executive Director Haji Najman Kamaruddin and TDM Plantation Chief Executive Officer Haji Mohd Ghozali Yahaya.
All guests, upon arrival, were first screened using the COVID-19 rapid test kit before listening to a brief sharing of TDMP’s plantation operations. Upon completion, they were taken on a tour to visit the residential area for workers in Jernih Estate and watched a demonstration of oil palm fresh fruit bunches (FFB) harvesting there. The delegation then headed to Kemaman Palm Oil Mill (KPOM), where they were given an in-depth presentation on the daily operations of an oil palm mill.
We are indeed honoured to have received the delegation visit from the Royal Thai Embassy and the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Kota Bharu. The teams managed to have a few exchanges, including an insightful discussion about the never-ending saga of labour shortage in the plantation industry. Today’s visit is hoped to tie us even closer and be a start to more impactful collaborations which can benefit all parties and further elevate the plantation industry.
