15 September 2021 – TDM Berhad today completed the distributions of a total 800 Al-Quran through “Program Sumbangan Waqaf Al-Quran”, a waqf programme initiated by non-profit non-governmental organisation (NGO) Iman Care and participated by all government-linked companies (GLC) under the Terengganu Inc Group. Exclusively printed by Yayasan Percetakan Islam Terengganu, the Al-Quran sets were handed out to the communities around TDM Plantation estates and mills in Sungai Tong, Bukit Besi and Kemaman as well as at Kumpulan Medic Iman Sdn Bhd (KMI Healthcare) hospitals in Kuala Terengganu, Kuantan, Kelana Jaya, and Taman Desa. These distributions bode well with the company’s shariah-compliant status and philanthropic efforts in bridging social changes to its community.
TDM is indeed honoured to be involved in this waqf programme and truly hopes that the community will take full advantage of the endowments. The sets of Al-Quran should not just be for display but to be recited, read and internalised, while the wisdom and knowledge gained should be assimilated into one’s daily life.
