21 September 2021 – Following the rapid spread of COVID-19 in recent months, TDM Berhad has rallied together with Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA) in a joint effort to boost the National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK) through vaccine outreach programmes, targeting older adults, people with disabilities and chronic illnesses, as well as those who live in rural areas with limited medical and logistic facilities. Back in June 2021, the Group donated RM100,000 to UniSZA in support of its mobile vaccination programme and deployed medical volunteers from KMI Kuala Terengganu Medical Centre to support the mobile PPV team with medical duties. The first vaccination drive through this joint effort took place at Sekolah Kebangsaan Kesom on 26 June 2021 and was graced by Terengganu Menteri Besar, YAB Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Samuri Mokhtar. To date, the drive has seen 3,700 individuals successfully vaccinated and is gearing up to immunise more people across Terengganu.
TDM’s contribution to UniSZA’s mobile vaccination programme is a testament to its continued commitment to supporting community safety, welfare and social well-being while coming on board with the whole-of-Government and whole-of-society approach called by the Malaysian government in the face of the pandemic. The Group is proud to join forces with UniSZA together with KMI Kuala Terengganu to accelerate the distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine, helping Malaysia achieves herd immunity
