19 February 2022 – TDM Berhad, in collaboration with Persatuan Belia Sahabat Sejahtera Daerah Hulu Terengganu (PBSSHT), organised its first “Karnival Penghayatan Islam” with the Hulu Terengganu community at Dataran Majlis Daerah Hulu Terengganu (MDHT). Present to officiate the programme was Terengganu Infrastructure, Public Facilities, Utilities and Green Technology Committee Chairman YB Dr. Haji Mamad Puteh, witnessed by TDM Plantation Sdn. Bhd. The “Karnival Penghayatan Islam” is one of TDM’s community engagement and enrichment corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes that will be held across all districts in Terengganu as part of the Group’s efforts to reach out to the local community and, at the same time, raise awareness of a more holistic appreciation towards Islam. It is in line with the Group’s Shariah-compliant status and mission to embody corporate citizenship as an organisation that prioritises its responsibilities and continues to deliver added values to its stakeholders, including its community.

This event hosted a line-up of knowledge exchange sessions like “Medan Ilmu (Kuliah Dhuha)”, “Slot Khas Bicara Wanita”, “Kuliah Maghrib Khas” and “Bicara Santai Malam Kesenian Islam”, featuring special guest speakers, namely Ustaz Ahmad Muzani Abdul Rahman, Ustazah Noorzila Mohamad, Ustaz Nor Azariza Mohd Alawi, Ustaz Muhammad Abdullah (Ustaz Mad Kechik), and Ustaz Syafiq Bukhari. On top of that, other activities like telematch, children’s colouring competition, “Kenduri Rakyat”, and lucky draw sessions were also held in full compliance with the COVID-19 standard operating procedure (SOP).

At the same event, TDM also made a monetary donation of RM80,000.00 to 400 asnaf families from areas within the Hulu Terengganu district; Kuala Berang, Ajil, Manir and Telemong. The donation was presented to all recipients right after the officiation ceremony YB Dr. Haji Mamad.
