Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR)

At TDM Berhad, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is realised through our commitment to empowering the communities where we operate in; and building shared values through four areas of focus: Entrepreneurship, Community, Education and Environment. It is a crucial part of our business model as we continue to make impactful actions that address key social and environmental challenges, as well as provide added values to our stakeholders.

#TDMCakna

A trailblazer to our commitment, #TDMCakna is a corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme for selected students from schools in the areas where we operate our businesses. Our focus for this initiative was education, within the context of a broader corporate social responsibility strategy. We believe that everyone can be successful through proper guidance and moral support.

Living Together

Living Together is an initiative dreamt and envisioned by our team to cope with the intrusion and encroachment of wild elephants at six of our estates in Kemaman and Setiu - an approach for our plantation to thrive while living harmoniously with them. With this new initiative currently in progress and soon to be fully implemented into our pipeline, we are looking into a brighter future of plantation management while alleviating Human-Elephant Conflict (HEC).

River of Life

River of Life is an initiative spearheaded by TDM Plantation, promoting protection, restoration, and sustainable use of rivers. Our first project is to have a river located in our Tayor Estate restored and rejuvenated. This river rejuvenation approach is hoped to trickle towards bigger goals which include creating awareness on our sustainability initiatives to the general public, preserving the rich natural biodiversity and creating corridors for rare, endangered, and threatened (RET) animals to roam the areas freely.

Huluran Kasih

A sense of familial and connection with communities, especially in areas we operate our business in, add value to our business. One of the best ways to connect with the community as an organisation is to forge closer bonds by getting to know them in person. "Huluran Kasih" is one of TDM's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, where our staff would visit five selected families, twice a month. This effort is an ongoing philanthropic project that underscores our commitment to giving back to society.

Ziarah Programme

We know that true sustainable development includes the long-term wellbeing of our society. Hence, we see the need to be of support to the community during challenging times. "Ziarah Programme" is another extension of our CSR initiatives where our team would volunteer to visit several patients at Kuala Terengganu Specialist Hospital. This visit is done bi-monthly to check on their health progress and extending guidance on "Ibadah" practice during the time of sickness. Our Ziarah programme is also in line with one of our healthcare value propositions - to achieve the status of 'Hospital Mesra Ibadah' (Religious Friendly Hospital).
