26 September 2021 – TDM Plantation (TDMP) today welcomed a delegation visit from University College TATI (TATIUC) at its Air Putih Estate. The purpose of the visit was to provide a better understanding and exchange of views on the development of technology and innovation related to automation and mechanisation within the oil palm industry. Led by TATIUC Rector Professor Dr. Anuar Ahmad, the delegates were warmly welcomed by TDMP Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Haji Mohd Ghozali Yahaya and Plantation Advisor En. Jalaini Che Kar.
The visit was first kicked off with an opening remark by Haji Mohd Ghozali, followed by a brief presentation on the mechanisation progress at TDMP estates and a quick demonstration of mechanised oil palm harvesting. The delegation also visited Kemaman Palm Oil Mill (KPOM), where they were taken through the intricate process of separating crude palm oil and palm kernel from the harvested fresh fruit bunches (FFB).
The visit was indeed insightful as it led to interesting discussions and opportunities for machine customisation following the landscape of an estate and operational needs to improve productivity. It will be a pivotal platform in driving the company’s future growth through effective collaborations with experienced industry partners. We would like to thank TATIUC for the visit and look forward to many more innovative exchanges in the near future.
