17 April 2022 – In keeping with the true spirit of caring and sharing during the fasting month, TDM Berhad partnered with a non-government organisation (NGO) to host a special Majlis Berbuka Puasa for 90 orphans aged between three to 17 from Pengkalan Berangan to share the traditions of Ramadan. Held at a local restaurant in Marang, the event to celebrate these children was graced by Terengganu Tourism, Culture and Information Technology Committee Deputy Chairman and Pengkalan Berangan Assemblyman YB Ustaz Sulaiman Sulong.

TDM is committed to giving back to its community, and given the celebrations of Ramadan, it sets to ramp up its philanthropic drive, reaching out to vulnerable groups and the less fortunate. In reflection of this commitment, the Group joined hand with the Kelab Kebajikan Saf Wanita Terengganu (SAFWA) through the Majlis Berbuka Puasa to extend the warmth of Ramadan traditions in of hopes of sharing blessings and joy with the orphans by giving them the same opportunity to celebrate the fasting month like other kids their age.

Speaking at the event, TDM Director Encik Mohd Kamaruzaman A Wahab, who took time off his busy schedule to join the crowd and celebrate these hopeful children, highlighted the significance of today’s gathering, making sure the less fortunate are not side-lined from the Ramadan celebrations.

TDM also handed out duit raya to these deserving children during the event for their preparations in welcoming the festivities. It was personally distributed by Encik Mohd Kamaruzaman and YB Ustaz Sulaiman right after their speeches. The orphans were then treated to a spread of delicious food in the company of their new extended families.

In addition to the spread of local delights, the evening tapered off with Encik Mohd Kamaruzaman, YB Ustaz Sulaiman, the management team of TDM and members of the SAFWA, together with the orphans performing the Maghrib prayer as a sign of gratitude and respect for the holy month.
