15 January 2023 – TDM Berhad (TDM) together with its healthcare arm, Kumpulan Medic Iman Sdn. Bhd. (KMI Healthcare) continues to sponsor the Terengganu Polygon Cycling Team (TSG) with a total of RM500,000. TSG’s outstanding track record and achievement in winning various cycling championships worldwide give confidence to the Group to retain its sponsorship for the 2023 season.
Present at Permai Hotel for the launching ceremony of the TSG’s new team and jerseys for 2023 was Menteri Besar of Terengganu, YAB Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar, accompanied by Terengganu State Secretary and Chairman of TDM Berhad, YBM Tengku Seri Bijaya Raja Datuk Tengku Farok Hussin Tengku Abdul Jalil and State Youth, Sports and Non Government Development Committee Chairman, YB Wan Sukairi Wan Abdullah. Also present at the launching ceremony were other sponsors, including Executive Director of TDM Berhad, Haji Najman Kamaruddin, management team of TDM, KMI Healthcare and KMI Kuala Terengganu Medical Centre (KMI Kuala Terengganu).
TSG’s achievements, which are managed by Terengganu Pro-Asia Cycling Team (TPCT), are awe-inspiring, as in 2022 season, the team was once again crowned as the champion of the UCI Asia Tour, ranked 31st in the world out of 212 professional teams and 3rd in the UCI World Tour. Currently, TSG successfully attained the red jersey as the King of the Mountains and the white jersey as the Best Asian Rider as well as Best Asian Team at the 26th edition of Le Tour de Langkawi in October 2022. These milestone achievements are our source of pride as sponsors and a sign of support for the team managed by 90% of Terengganu-born.
We hope this sponsorship can expand our brand momentum in line with the acknowledgements and awards received in the past years, namely BestStartup Asia, Sustainability & CSR Malaysia Awards 2021, and a 3-star rating out of 4 for Economic, Environmental, Social and Governance (EESG) ratings of Public Listed Companies (PLC) assessed by FTSE Russell. Meanwhile, KMI Healthcare bagged the BrandLaureate award in September and Malaysian Society for Quality in Health (MSQH) accreditation for KMI Kuantan Medical Centre (KMI Kuantan), a recognition in the quality of healthcare services on par with other leading healthcare brands.
