TDM had the opportunity to plant trees along the Batu Burok beach to Pandak Beach through a program that is an initiative between the Kuala Terengganu City Council (MBKT) and the Sultan Mizan Royal Foundation (YDSM).
The opening ceremony, which took place at the Batu Burok Beach Square, Kuala Terengganu, was completed by His Royal Highness the Sultan of Terengganu, Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin, accompanied by YB Dr. Azman bin Ibrahim, Chairman of the Agriculture, Agro-based Industry, and Rural Development Committee, who was present representing the Menteri Besar. TDM, which is part of the sponsor for this program, was also represented in the presence of the Executive Director, Tuan Haji Najman Kamaruddin. A total of 3,000 trees that are suitable for planting in coastal areas, namely ketapang trees, rhu trees, coconut trees, and merambung trees, have been successfully planted by volunteers along the 11-kilometer coastline.
TDM’s involvement in this Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program is very meaningful, especially in achieving the goal of conserving the environment through tree planting activities that can have a positive impact on the environment and its diverse biodiversity.
This effort is also one of TDM’s ways of showing support for the “Road to 1 Million Trees 2023” campaign, in conjunction with the Malaysian Greening Program through the Terengganu State Level 100 Million Tree Planting Campaign. TDM always takes proactive measures to combat climate change in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs), which are goals 13 (climate action) and 15 (life on land).
