“TDM Prihatin” Eased Community’s Burden

Kuala Terengganu – TDM Berhad in collaboration with TDM Plantation (TDMP) today organised “TDM Prihatin” programme together with the community from Sungai Tong Complex at Akademi TDM, Sungai Tong. This programme was officiated by State Human Development, Dakwah and Information Committee chairman Yang Berhormat Mohd Nor bin Hamzah and witnessed by TDM Executive Director Tuan Haji Najman Kamaruddin.

Themed “Mesra Komuniti”, this is one of TDM’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes aimed at reaching out and establishing a closer relationship with Sungai Tong community, specifically those from Bukit Bidong Estate, Fikri Estate, Jaya Estate, Pelung Estate, Tayor Estate and Sungai Tong Palm Oil Mill.  The programme also showcased the company’s concerns for the community especially those whose livelihoods are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The participants had the chance to get to know one another and strengthened the spirit of togetherness through various activities such as “Usrah Pagi”, “Solat dan Motivasi Dhuha”, “Smart Solat”, Zakat briefing by AMCARE agency (MAIDAM’s Zakat agent), telematch and creative arts session. Each activity was carried out in accordance with the standard operating procedures (SOP) of the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) and the guidelines by the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MoF).

In the same event, TDM also donated cash and basic necessities to 61 selected families to help alleviate their burdens and livelihoods. The donation was presented by YB Mohd Nor bin Hamzah after the closing speech of the program.

Also present were TDM Board of Directors, TDMP Board of Directors, and TDM, TDMP Estates and Palm Oil Mill Management Teams. TDM Prihatin programme ended with prize giving ceremony to winners and followed by lunch.
